Brian Porter, Managing Director

Brian is a founding Partner of Charles Sterling Group. Having spent the past 15 years in executive search, Brian has successfully executed a wide variety of domestic and international search assignments for some of the most prominent financial services companies. He has a broad knowledge of the global financial services industry and its products, from capital markets and banking to investment management and securities services. His extensive research and prospecting expertise provides him with the ability to service high-level search assignments across all practices of Charles Sterling Group.
Previously, Brian managed the largest producing office of a major international search firm. He helped establish national strategies and was very successful in building an executive search business dedicated to the financial services industry. Brian received a Bachelors of Art from Saint Anselm College in 1991. Following college, he spent a few years in the banking and brokerage industry before starting his career in executive search.
Fran McCormack, Managing Director

Fran is a founding partner of Charles Sterling Group. For over 18 years, Fran has provided executive search services for global leaders in the Investment Management, Investment Servicing, and Banking industries. Fran has successfully completed searches across a broad array of functional specialties such as Portfolio Management, Sales, Client Service, Accounting, Finance, and Operations.
Previously, Fran was the National Director of Executive Search for one of the world's largest search organizations. He was responsible for the strategic direction of the division's eleven offices throughout the United States and was instrumental in the growth of the firm's financial services practice. He was also a member of the firm's Professional Services Group Operating Committee. Prior to working in the search industry, he spent a number of years in banking. Fran is a 1986 graduate from Boston College.
Martin Rogosa, Chief Operating Officer, Managing Director

Marty is a founding Partner of Charles Sterling Group. He is responsible for the firm's financial management and is an integral member of management's strategic planning initiatives.
Marty has over 24 years of financial management experience within the financial services industry. He has extensive experience in financial management, technical accounting, and strategic planning. Marty held various executive-level finance positions at State Street Corporation, including Senior Vice President, Financial Management and Analysis, and Manager, Corporate Accounting. He passed the CPA exam and holds a BBA in accounting from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Marty is also President of MJR Capital, an unaffiliated investment company.
John Allen, Managing Director

John Allen is a Managing Director for Charles Sterling Group. He has more than two decades of search experience and is known for his extensive experience placing senior-level talent for many of the world's leading financial companies.
Most recently, John was a Senior Vice President of Talent Management for Fidelity Investments, the largest mutual fund company in the United States. He was responsible for senior level executive recruiting and succession planning throughout the company.
Prior to joining Fidelity Investments, John founded Allen Partners, Incorporated, an executive search firm specializing in financial services. Also previously, John worked at Bank of America/Fleet Boston Financial as Managing Director of Talent Management and Executive Recruiting, where he focused on leadership and executive level placement. Prior to joining FleetBoston, John was with Heidrick and Struggles, a global executive search firm, as Managing Partner of the Financial Service Practice of North America, Asia/Pacific and Latin America.
John graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor in Science. He holds an MPA from the Graduate School of Public Affairs at State University of New York in Albany. John is also a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking and the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development.
